Nelson Mandela said,
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world" With that being said, we would like to welcome you to Education By
Students! We are students of Brigham Young University who are passionate about
our education system. Many people believe that education is important for
countless reasons. Everyone has felt the impact that it can have in a student’s life-for better or worse. We can affirm that much of our personal success and passion can be attributed to our schooling; specifically our teachers.
Two of the authors of this blog hope to pursue careers in education and help other students to realize their potential. The third loved being in school and realizes how important having a capable teacher is, as all of us do. We recognize the power and influence that a teacher can have in a student’s life, and we hope to make a positive difference.
Similar to what Nelson Mandela said, education is the basis for all greatness. It is a foundation for the rest of one’s life. In today’s society if you don’t have a first-rate education then you can say goodbye to all of your dreams of a decent job. The job market of this day and age are very competitive. You are not competing with the best in just this country, you are competing with the best in the world. Because of that, and for many other reasons, the education we give to a child should be of the highest quality.
We strongly feel that one of the most important aspects of a quality education are teachers. Throughout this blog we would like to discuss some key issues surrounding the education system. Our focuses are:
